Dark Mofo in Hobart
Our adventure to the MONA Dark Mofo festival begins with an early 4.15 am taxi pick up, arriving in Hobart via Melbourne at 3pm. Could have sworn we were in regional Kalgoorlie with our exit from the plane via ramp and an airport about the same size.
DAY 1 : PERTH TO DARK MOFO IN HOBART
Our adventure to the MONA Dark Mofo festival begins with an early 4.15 am taxi pick up, arriving in Hobart via Melbourne at 3pm. Could have sworn we were in regional Kalgoorlie with our exit from the plane via ramp and an airport about the same size. My new lime green case eventually appeared after 30 mins and in the meantime we had spotted a guy with a Dark Mofo sign. Turned out he was picking up an English comedian that didn't appear (Judith Lucy was standing near by) so he kindly offered to take us instead FOC to our very centrally located Somerset Aparrment on Elizabeth Quay.
Turned up at our first Dark Mofo event which actually was a "dance party" .... Not sure why I booked this ... But based on others there that were about the same age I think the idea of Dark Mofo was indeed to keep most "in the dark" as to content! We did gravitate outside towards the Fire pits where we hung out with a couple of interesting middle aged women who were also in the arts. Clad for warmth in my new woollen hat, scarf, coat & gloves we stretched the experience out to 2 hours of chill before retiring to the warmth of the apartment.
